The current limits on numbers of people who can attend weddings, funerals and other life events will end on July 19.
Changes announced include:
- The removal of all restrictions on funerals
- The lifting of the requirement to wear face coverings in all settings
- The end of social distancing requirements in all settings
Funeral directors have been given some very sensible advice from Cromer Crematorium, the salient points of which we summarise below:
- Whilst masks will no longer be a legal requirement, we would actively encourage you to continue to wear them in our indoor public spaces, should you wish to do so.
- We continue to offer hand sanitiser in and around our buildings.
- We will continue to ensure that where possible we have doors and windows open as much as you can to allow for good airflow throughout our buildings.
- We will remove all signage that mandates control measures (e.g. masks must be worn)
- We can confirm that singing will once again be allowed in our chapels
- Please catch coughs and sneezes in disposable tissues or on your sleeve (not your hands), and then discard the tissue (and wash your hands).
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
- Those attending our sites should try maintaining a sensible clearance area between others if possible.
- We will not return hymn books to our chapels until a later date.
- We can now allow for curtains to remain open and for mourners to walk up to the coffin to touch/place flowers.
- We remain happy for donations and collections to be carried out by the Funeral Directors using their own donation boxes or encourage families to make use of online charitable giving sites.
